Specific Training

Trail ultra races are all so different because of their length or terrain. An ultra can be 45kms or 160! That's a big difference! Some ultras are flat, others have heaps of elevation. Some are technical, some are easy to negotiate. That is why course specific training is so important!

For this reason, I am heading to Bright this weekend to train on the Buffalo Stampede course. I am doing the Grand Slam in early April and can not find hills as steep as Bright anywhere near home. I shall be leaving pretty much straight after work today (Friday) and doing two big days, before heading home for some recovery at work!

I shall post some photos and and a report of my training when I return! I can't wait!
